2017 Nissan Rogue vs. Murano: Which SUV is Right for Your Lifestyle?

Nissan is known for making some formidable SUVS. Both the 2017 Rogue and 2017 Murano are jam-packed with plenty of awesome performance and technology features. However, there are quite a few differences that set them apart.

If you’re unsure which vehicle better fits your Cherry Hill, Mount Laurel, or Collingswood lifestyle, don’t worry. Your friends at Cherry Hill Nissan can help you decide.

The Differences

Engine Power

2017 Nissan Rogue Red (c)Underneath the hood of the 2017 Nissan Rogue is a four-cylinder engine that can generate 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.

The 2017 Nissan Murano, on the other hand, is equipped with a larger V6 engine. Naturally, it can produce a lot more power at 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque

As you might imagine, these engines affect fuel economy greatly. With its smaller engine, the Rogue can maintain an impressive 32 mpg highway and 25 mpg city.1 Meanwhile, economy in the Murano is reduced to 28 mpg highway and 21 mpg city.2

In terms of total volume, the Murano is definitely bigger, but drivers more concerned with cargo space and head/leg room may prefer the Nissan Rogue.

  • USB and auxiliary
  • Hands-free text and call
  • SiriusXM® satellite radio
  • A five-inch touchscreen
  • A four-speaker audio system

  • An 8-inch touchscreen
  • Apple CarPlay™
  • NissanConnectSM
  • SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link®
  • A six-speaker audio system

So, if it’s gadgets you’re looking for, you may have to go with the Nissan Murano.

The Similarities

Both SUVs feature an available intuitive all-wheel drive system, making them excellent off-road and poor-weather vehicles.

An Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) is also available in both to enhance efficiency.

Another benefit of both the 2017 Nissan Rogue and the Murano is that they are built with Zone body construction.

Zone bodies include:

  • Front and rear crumple zones
  • Hood buckling creases
  • Safety stops
  • Pipe-style steel side-door guard beams

No matter which SUV you choose, you can rest assured that your family will be safe.

Which SUV is the Right Fit?

Both the 2017 Nissan Murano and the 2017 Nissan Rogue have plenty of excellent features to offer. Which you choose depends on what you prefer: engine power or efficiency? Interior space or interior entertainment?
