2017 Nissan GT-R Review

2017 Nissan GT-RThe GT-R returns for 2017 revamped and ready to roll. This time around, Nissan’s ever-evolving twin-turbocharged coupe delivers more horsepower and a sleeker design, adding a refined quality to its sharp performance.

Compared to other sports cars around Collingswood, Cherry Hill and Mount Laurel, the 2017 GT-R is in a class of its own. Cherry Hill Nissan explores its features in our 2017 Nissan GT-R review below.

Performance: Building More Muscle

With its 3.8L twin-turbo V6, the new Nissan GT-R delivers an electrifying 0-60 performance.

Each cylinder gets individual ignition-timing control while its turbos receive more boost. Parts from the old GT-R NISMO engine enhance the V6’s acceleration, boosting the GT-R to 565-horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque. The result: unapologetic acceleration, speed, and power.

Respectively, the V6 is up 20 and 4 from its predecessor. An upgraded six-speed dual-clutch gear box propels power to the wheels, delivering smooth gear shifts and aggressive acceleration.

Soaking up road bumps, cracks, and turbulence is the 2017 GT-R’s retuned suspension. Its body structure’s added rigidity hones handling, resulting in a ride where exhilaration comes standard.

Smooth Ride, Quiet Power

Not only do drivers get more power with the 2017 Nissan GT-R; they also get less noise. The GT-R’s new titanium exhaust and Active Sound Enhancement tames the turbo’s snarl and delivers a quieter, more refined ride.

The GT-R also adds an acoustic glass windshield, Active Noise Cancellation and new sound insulation to maintain a silent, serene cabin. With these features, the GT-R noiselessly cruises through South Jersey without sacrificing the power or performance it’s earned a reputation for.

The New Nissan GT-R Design

The Nissan GT-R debuted in 2007, and rarely goes long without receiving a few evolutionary upgrades. This year, the GT-R gets a major makeover and returns dressed to the nines with new body work, redrawn line and a refreshed interior.

Up front, the GT-R’s “V-motion” front grille and revamped hood give it an aggressive stance. Rigid accents, triangular headlamps, new side sills and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels complete its exterior.

Interior

2017 Nissan GT-R Get behind the wheel, and you’ll find a cockpit decked out in premium materials. The Nissan GT-R features an all-new “horizontal” flow dashboard, whose 8.0-inch touchscreen display comes wrapped in Nappa leather.

For 2017, Nissan added a Display Command controller, improved its air vent actuators and redesigned the GT-R’s seats. Its cushions are lighter and more comfortable, providing the support you need during long car rides.
